Memorial Day Weekend FUN!

The plan was for me to do a weekend beach tour, a different beach for 3 days straight. Well, it started with a trip to St. Simon's Island, GA. I met my friends Sarah and Kenny and they took me to a secluded beach with only about 15 people and it was so peaceful that after they left to go to a wedding, I fell asleep. When I woke up the tide had come in over the rocks and was approaching my spot. Also during my nap, I forgot to put sunscreen on my feet...OUCH. Because of this, I could not finish my weekend beach tour to Hilton Head Island and Tybee Island. I had to stay out of the sun and let my skin heal. Here is a picture of the one beach I did get to:

Scott had a friend come in town to entertain him while I was attempting my beach tour. They stayed busy helping Scott's brother get his boat off the lift at his house and took his boat out on Saturday...they said they saw 25 or was it 15 dolphin having a feeding frenzy. They then were able to get Scott's dad out on the boat to help them spot as they both wanted to water ski. Both successful...the next day they were able to put our new boat (used that is) in the water and get it running smoothly with steering and everything. Here is a picture of them coming around to the dock.
And then finally the sun went down on Sunday night and I was able to enjoy a sunset tour of the Forest River. It was gorgeous! I hope you enjoy my feet in these shots...gives it a little spice!
Scott, Ron, and his parents rounded out Monday with a trip to the golf course and then back on the boat later in the afternoon. I did make it to Hilton Head with Rob and Amy and the kids to a little pool party...where I stayed in the shade with covered feet. It was a nice weekend, but went by way to fast!!!

Hope you all had a great weekend!

Love,
Carrie

A prayer from Jesus for YOU

This prayer is taken from The Frazzled Female by Cindi Wood, a bible study that I completed last week. In the conclusion there was this prayer from the Bible formatted so we put our name in to help us see how much Jesus loves us. It is verses John 17:9-10, 13, 15-19, 25-26, NIV.

It is powerful.

"I pray for ________. I am not praying for the world, but for ________ you have given me, for _________ [is] yours. All I have is yours, and all you have is mine. And glory has come to me through _______. I am coming to you now, but I say these things while I am still in the world, so that _________ may have the full measure of my joy within [him/her]. My prayer is not that you take _______ out of the world but that you protect [him/her] from the evil one. _______ [is] not of the world, even as I am not of it. Sanctify _______ by the truth; your word is truth. As you sent me into the world, I have sent ________ into the world. For _______, I sanctify myself, that ________ too may be truly sanctified. Righteous Father, though the world does not know you, I know you, and ______ know[s] that you have sent me. I have made you known to ________, and will continue to make you known in order that the love you have for me may be in ________ and that I myself may be in _______" (John 17:9-10, 13, 15-19, 25-26, NIV).

Trickeling Water/Mother's Day Tribute

Chance (our beloved little cat) has been spoiled to say the least. He has trained us to turn on the bathtub water at a trickle so he can get his hourly fix of water. Yes, he has a water dish...a special filtered fountain streamed dish from Petsmart. This dish however was not good enough because it did not produce a real fountain out of the spout trickle as the bathtub faucet gives him. So, for the past few years we have listened to Chance whine everytime we're in the bathroom (to do our thing) for us to turn on the tub water at just the right trickle so he can drink out of it, but not get wet. Then after we finally give in and turn the water on...we come back hours later (next bathroom visit) only to realize we left the water running for the cat for hours. This was all very frustrating as you can probably tell....so today we hopefully ended it! We bought him the trickle water dispenser and placed it in the bathroom and so far today we have been bathtub water trickle free and he seems to be really enjoying his new water device.

On another note...last weekend we celebrated Mother's Day at our house with Scott's parents and Uncle Greg. Scott made up the menu and we had filet, garlic chicken pasta, 2 kinds of bread, spinach and strawberry salad, and brownie sundae for desert. We sat in the front room with a better view than any restaurant could have had. So to my mom and Scott's mom....Happy Mother's Day AGAIN! Because every day is Mother's Day! A special note to my mom and my grandma...I missed you all so much. I have been realizing that I have not been home for Mother's Day in many years...maybe even since high school! I love you both very much and thought I would attach some pictures of all of us over the years as a special tribute, since we don't have any official Mother's Day pictures. Anyways, I am so lucky to have you both in my life and even though we're far apart you are both so close to my heart all of the time!

Potting Flowers

Last weekend, after a few coaching experiences from my mom and grandma when we lived in Annapolis, I accomplished my first solo potting experience here in Savannah. Meaning that I got up, felt like getting some flowers from Wal*Mart, picked them all out by myself, organized them and potted them! However, after I finally completed these 8 pots, I fell into a deep sickness w/100 degree fever and was out for 3-4 days with a cold. Does this mean something???

No! There is a lot more yard work to do. This weekend I spent some time trimming up some Azelea bushes (sp?) some raking and oh my...so much more to do with our yard...but first we are in desperate need of rain down here!!!!

Fish or Ski?

I always thought that living in the coast meant never going hungry. I see people fishing from bridges, from boats, from the beach, from rocks, once I even saw someone fishing in the aquarium at the bass pro shop (I think he was selling a fishing lure however). Therefore, with the fishing a plenty I really have been looking forward to throwing in the old pole and hookin’ up with some fresh catch and filleting that baby up right.

Well, I didn't have an old pole. But remember that trip to the bass pro shop (pole acquired). With pole in hand and a few interesting articles to be used as bait; I am fishing. For me however, each fishing trip is nothing more than a casting practice. I must say at this point I am probably one of the best fishing pole casters on the water. I can cast the line and make the line stop and drop in a spot so tight the fish should just strap themselves to my line and surrender without hesitation. My fishing gear and casting techniques have gotten so refined that last weekend on a boat with friends a buddy was convinced that I could catch fish.

With that said, I have caught no fish. And while fishing on my friend’s boat I made him stay out on the water too long and the boat almost sank. We had to call Sea Tow ($149 per year for unlimited tows)(Awesome). Finally after trying for weeks, I had my first HUGE fish fry. We must have had about 15-20 "nice" sized fish filets grilling at once! Thank goodness they were on sale at the grocery store on the corner. There’s just no fishing here for me. I did drop some chicken necks off in a cage for 48 hours and hauled in about 30 blue crab, but they are too small and it is too early in the year.

With fishing a hopeless cause, I have made the decision to become actively involved in aggressive water sports. Since the boat barely works and uses a lot of gas, I decided to buy a jet ski. The only catch (no I didn’t catch a fish) is I don't have a jet ski budget. Well remember the "red paperclip" story. That was the plan. I searched the internet for three months. I finally found a non-working jet ski for $150. The dude selling said it ran GREAT!.... 5 years ago. It had been camped out in the back yard of his parents’ house since then. You know, a person leaves home, goes off to college, and suddenly they'll sell their soul for $150! or in this case their Jet Ski.

I was convinced that I could just take the old bear home, clean her up, maybe charge the batteries, and talk nice to her and get her engine running. This always worked before I got married so it should certainly work now (yes it is true; I once had a jet ski before I got married). So, once home, batteries charged, I put on my safety glasses and hit the green start button. "kachunk!" everytime I hit the button. Nothing but a clicking “kachunk!” noise. The motor was completely locked up. Well, I figure I have to do something about this. First, I took the spark plugs out and sprayed some engine fogger in the spark plug holes as well as the carberator. The fogger is what you spray in the motor BEFORE letting the motor sit for 5 years. It prevents the motor from locking up. After spraying some in I rapidly hit the starter button a few times hoping to jar the motor loose. I just got a "kachunk!""kachunk!""kachunk!""kachunk!" every time nothing. Then I pulled off the impellar plate and tried to turn the drive shaft by hand. It would not budge. It was completely seized. BUT THEN...

The heavens were watching that cool Saturday afternoon. While just a week earlier I was sinking on a friends boat with the long reach of the "Sea Tow" racing to get the boat to land I now, merely a week later, am in the good hands once again from a higher power ensuring success on whatever daily activities I choose to sporadically incur. So like a sparkling pile of GOLD at the end of a rainbow I noticed that the impeller had a place on it to put a wrench. With eagerness and excitement I took a really big crescent wrench and positioned it so that I could push on it with all my weight. No luck. Wouldn't budge. That motor was LOCKED UP TIGHT. With nothing to lose at this point, I got some leverage and kicked it pretty hard and even hit it with a hammer a few times. Suddenly, the wrench moved. With disbelief in the almighty power of WD-40 and duct-tape I was sure that the wrench must have just fallen off. But it did not my friends for the truth be the truth and that is why you CAN get it your way right away because you just have to choose your drive throughs diligently and once you have found your mojo you can, once again, put on those safety glasses and hit that green start button and sit back in shock, in complete amazement, in utter disbelief when your $150 jet ski starts up like the old Delorian in Back to the Future III with smoke and backfiring and everything that indicates that you are having a successful day of glory and productivity... but I digress.

St. Patty's Day 2007

What can I say, another fantastic St. Patty's in Savannah! I have been in Savannah for this day 3 years in a row. The first year (2005) was freezing cold and raining. My brother was with us and we barely made it to the parade. The second year (2006) was absolutely beautiful, 80 degrees and sunshine. The square we camped out in was comfortably packed and the food and drinks plentiful, it was also very easy to get to a restroom. This year had its own characteristics. It was sunny and about 60 degrees and slight breeze, the square was completely baracaded off, it was packed full, it was tough to get across to go to the restroom. River street smelled like a giant porta' potty, and there was no getting into a restaurant to eat. We did get to see the famous 5 gallon bucket drummer down on river street. Of course this is all contributed to the fact everything fell on a Saturday this year (~750,000 people). My mom blessed the children and nighted the men with her magic wand, my dad went to the bathroom, Tim posed as Russel Crowe for some Australians, and little kids were shocking their parents with a miniture toy gun. Anyways, after a fun filled day we ended up at Loco's Sportsbar watching the basketball games, which was quite refreshing even though 3 games went into overtime as I was trying to leave and go home! Obviously, my parents made it to Savannah really late Friday night in time for the festivities downtown and then my brother and Jenny left Saturday night really late. We had a great family day here in Savannah! This may mark the end of my desire to be downtown for St Patricks Day, but who knows we'll have to see who is visiting next year!

Weekend Birthday

It was our nephew's birthday this weekend, he is now 4 years old! I just can't get over how fast they are growing up. I have to say that I am always so flattered when they are excited to see me and when they ask, "Where is Aunt Carrie?" It is such a good feeling to have them recognize me as family. Here are a few pictures of the bowling birthday party.

Here is James blowing out his candles.

James is truly the sweets monster of the family, takes after his dad and uncle!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JAMES!

Scott and I also saw the Al Gore Documentary on Global Warming. Hey it was free! It was pretty interesting, we both learned a lot about the topic. And that's all I really have to say about that. You'll have to check it out for yourself. I will say this though. Be thankful for all God has given us, the beauty of the world, it is all pretty amazing. Enjoy!

No MORE Chili!

OK, I think I've had enough Chili for 2 cold winters in Iowa! My stomach cannot handle anymore tomato sauce! But did I tell you it was good! But it's time to move on and empty the left over bowl into the garbage.

Anyways, now that the uncertainty of my life has calmed down a bit, I find myself missing that uncertainty. Each day seems to be the same: I get up...early...work all day, come home, work some more, watch some TV or at least stare at the TV while my mind thinks of 100 other things, warm up the bed, go to bed. Can anyone else relate? In a week and a half things will shake up again as I go back for 2 weeks of training. Then in March my brother and his girlfriend are coming to visit, followed by my parents. This is very exciting because neither has been to our house here in Savannah and my parents haven't even been to Savannah! So check back in March to see their exciting adventure.

Well, American Idol is on...time for a little therapy as I watch these crazy people with skewed perceptions of themselves and their voices put themselves out for the world to see. I love to see the good ones get a chance though!

Here are some good reminders to help me on my journey with God: (We just started studying Romans)
1. Personal Righteousness will not save me. (Romans 1:16) "...the Gospel for it is the power of God unto salvation."
2. Pursuing righteousness will sanctify me. (Romans 1:5) "...to call them to the obedience that comes from faith."
3. Personal commitment will position me for greater service. (Romans 1:9) "For God whom I serve in my spirit..."

Super Bowl Fun. Way to go Colts!

On Friday night Scott took me and his parents to see an off Broadway show at the Savannah Theater. It was called, The Fantastic's, it was a nice, funny story line and we had 1st row balcony seats. The singing was amazing, and for very few effects, it was pretty good. The best part was it felt like a real date night!

On Sunday, Scott and I hosted a Super Bowl party with our Small Group from Church. I made the biggest pot of Chili I've ever made and it was delicious thanks to a tip from my mom! When the guys arrived they played some football outside for awhile and the girls played some kind of words game??? Bobble or something like that. It was really funny when they started playing during half-time and it must be the quietest game ever because there was not a peep out of them! I, on the other hand, was watching the football game ever so intently as the Colts went on to win 29-17! Go Colts! In between I was also attempting to make ice cream...oops a little runny...and brownies. We had so much food! Anyways, we had a blast!

After the game Scott and I cleaned up in record time, I was really tired, but I was so happy this morning when everything was put away.

Everything else is going well, I feel like we are getting our life back to a normal routine.

Love and prayers to everyone!

The month of January

I can't believe January has almost passed us by, where did it go? It really makes you take a step back and try your hardest to enjoy each minute of every day. We had some ups and downs this month. Scott's grandmother died on January 17th, Scott's birthday was January 18th, we traveled for the funeral and to be with his family in Ohio, our nephew was dedicated to the Lord today in church, the Colts are in the SuperBowl, and it's my dad's birthday tomorrow (Happy Birthday DAD!). To keep this short and sweet, here are a few pictures of Scott's birthday celebration.

Scott's brother got him a Chimenea for his birthday...he really loves it! Hopefully the wind will calm down here soon so we can sit outside and enjoy it!

Hopefully, more sooner than later!

We're back! HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Okay so a little time has passed since I last updated, but we were BUSY. And that's all I have to say about that! We're both in Savannah, together again. We've traveled to Iowa and back for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Here are some pictures of our Thanksgiving experience:

Yes, that is a Pardoned Turkey on Thanksgiving.

And now we are back in Savannah. Here is a picture of our view from our living room. While I was gone at training Scott moved us out of our Annapolis home in 2 trips. Then our small group joined him and his parents in emptying the POD. That was a huge project...so thanks to all who helped! Here is a picture of the guys moving in a HUGE refrigerater. And my awesome husband went the extra mile and made sure I had a christmas tree and decorations when I got home (his mom helped too!). Scott and I celebrated New Years last night watching Dick Clark's Rockin New Years and toasted on our dock at midnight. We had a spectacular view of about 5 Firework displays. It was very memorable. We had a crazy 2006 that's for sure including:

Paris for New Years 2006, Maytag bought out by Whirlpool, June 30th was our last day at Maytag/Whirlpool, My brother stayed with us throughout the summer, Multiple trips to Ohio, Annapolis, and Savannah, Thanksgiving and Christmas in Iowa, New jobs, Moved to Savannah.

We have so much to be thankful for. I am hoping that 2007 isn't so hectic, but I'm sure I'll survive!

More later,

Carrie

Gratitude vs. Grumbling

Yesterday at Church the sermon was titled "Gratitude vs. Grumbling." I had a grumbling sort of day on Friday and luckily Scott was there to put me in my place. I got it all out of my system only to be re-reminded of my immaturity on Sunday. The Bible says to be thankful for all circumstances. Because even in the unpleasant circumstances there are things happening around us that we must be thankful for. I am most thankful for our friends we have met through the Church. Here are a few pictures of our small group from Bay Area Community Church in Annapolis, MD. We played Cranium: Girls vs. Guys. Yep, you guessed it, Girls won! This fall we had Laser Tag night and spent time celebrating with Adam.

Here is our new Small Group with Savannah Christian Church. I am so thankful for all of our friends!

Here are the FIVE PATHS TO A HEART OF GRATITUDE: (Cam Huxford, SCC 11-19-06)
1. Learn to Be Grateful for Imperfect Gifts.
2. Learn to Be Grateful in Times of Anxiety and Frustration.
3. Learn to Express Gratitude Openly and Often.
4. Devote Yourself to Worshipping God.
5. When you Realize That God has Given you Gift after Gift after Gift...What do you Say?

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

Love,
Carrie

Training

Scott got through a one week administrative training last week in Greenville, SC. He was gone from Sunday night to Friday night. I didn't get to talk to him much so I think the days were jammed packed and his nights were spent getting to know others that work at his company. It's pretty nice to get to go to these meetings because most of the time you are out in the field by yourself.

I officially got my flight itinerary for my training in New York today. I should receive my training packet in the mail tomorrow. I can't believe my unemployment is coming to an end. Today I spent the day doing the usual: laundry, cleaning, email, ofoto projects, bills, lunch time stroll around neighborhood. I even said out loud, "I hope I see a porpoise today." And sure enough I saw one. Sorry no picture. But you can imagine seeing one pop it's back fin out of the water as it strolls through the little inlet. I am still amazed how they swim around these waters here in Savannah. It is pretty amazing. I'll try to take more pictures!

More later,
Carrie

New jobs=new wardrobes!

After Scott received his job offer...he came home with a new TV! Guess what I came home with? CLOTHES and SHOES!

For all practical purposes of course. We are switching from Appliance Sales where many days were either in grub clothes setting up for training expo's, khaki's and polo's, or business casual, with emphasis on casual! Now, we are in Medical Sales and that means business attire. Yes, folks suits and ties. So you guessed it. Suits and ties are on our wish list this year for Christmas. But of course I couldn't wait for Christmas. And I have to say, I lucked out with some great sales.

First stop: The Limited. They have these suits I've been eyeing. They are washable, wearable, and wrinkle-free! Plus I can wear the pants alone if I want (Drew Fit) for a business casual. My training is business casual. Anyways, I bought two suits today because they were 40% off! I think there are 2 more suit outfits in that style that I would like, a black suit and possibly the soft blue/black suit if we can find the right blouse and shoes to go with it!

Second stop...The Gap...I love their turtle necks. I hope these things never go out of style because I think everyone looks great in these, plus they are warm and comfortable. This years style has extra long sleeves and a forgiving stretchy material that you can wear long or tucked under.

Final stop...Rack Room Shoes of course! Rack Room Shoes seems to have Buy 1 get 1 50% off more often than not, but you never know when it will end! I've been wanting some everyday Sketcher type brown/black shoes. Well, they don't come in brown and black on the same shoe...so I had to get a pair of each. (side note: This really nice lady in line showed the cashier her military ID and I got an extra 15% off! How awesome was that? She was funny, she said, "I'm really glad we decided to go shopping today...etc" What a hoot! ) I also got some cool snow boots...just in case (hey, we are going to IOWA!).
And finally a few weeks ago I gave away some really uncomfortable tall black boots to Goodwill, but it's always nice to have a pair in your closet, so I bought a new pair...well, I had to get the discount! You just never know when you'll need some hooker boots! J/k.

So, here are my insights for the day:
1.) Be careful who you make friends with at a shoe store that is low on shoes your size (8.5) They may be the same size!
2.) Do make friends with people in line...they just might be with the military!
3.) Ask the girls that work in the store what their favorite jeans are in the store. It works!
4.) Wear comfortable shoes, but do yourself up as if going out to a nice dinner. Clothes just look better, but beware, you may buy more!
5.) Shop alone and if you ever get a chance, go in the middle of a weekday. It's very therapeutic.

Enough from me....
Carrie

Remodeled version...

Okay, here is the remodeled version! But it was kind of funny...huh?
I feel proud to say I'm having Thanksgiving at a farm in Iowa! That's what everyone thinks of when they think of Iowa anyway. Especially out East!

The Process....and Thanksgiving Plans

I have a job! Well, almost. I accepted the job offer yesterday. There was no actual offer to sign...so that wasn't any fun. Wednesday they will start the HR process. They'll need my birthdate to begin the driving record check, background check and drug screen! If all goes well, I will then be issued my plane ticket to training which will leave on the Sunday after Thanksgiving (Nov 26th). I will be staying at a Hyatt on Long Island (about 1.5 hrs by train to NYC) where the company owns a whole floor. I will have a roomate for 4 weeks and a few of us will be sharing a mini-van. The training sounds very intense and I guess they do not encourage visitors...sorry everyone! When I return I get to drive a company car! At first it will be a mini van...then it will be swapped out with a new white Ford 500 in the spring. That's exciting!

Scott and I are going to Des Moines, IA (my home home) for Thanksgiving. This will be Scott's first time experiencing a holiday with my family (besides July 4th). I am very excited. I haven't been home for Thanksgiving since I was in college. We will be at my Aunt Carla's Simple Serenity Farm in Jefferson, IA.

Is it what you imagined?

Oh, by the way, I found out this week that I have been officially removed from the "kids" drawing for gifts at Christmas. I guess once you get married you become an adult...who knew?

The Ball is in my Court Now

After a disappointing phone call on Tuesday with the company stating that they were not going to be able to make a decision until next week, my waiting days came to a close yesterday around 5:00pm. "We have good and interesting news" was how it was quoted. The offer was made, but instead of working under the hiring manager I had been interviewing with, I would be working for a different hiring manager selling a different product (a product that is very popular and easier to learn and sell). I have a breakfast meeting on Monday with my potential manager to "get to know each other" and then I will have 24 hours to accept the offer. The training would start November 26- December 22 in New York.

Four month re-cap (July-October)

Here is a snap shot of what we've accomplished in the last 3-4 months of unemployment. Just in case you thought we've just been sitting on our butts watching soaps and Dr. Phil.

In July we took my little brother with us to Key West where we got to experience the Hemingway look-a-like contest at Sloppy Joes and lobster diving. We then left for Ohio to visit Scott's family and his grandmother in the nursing home. I left after a few days to accompany my father-in law back to Savannah, GA. Scott stayed back in Ohio and was supposed to be helping out the family with granmda in the nursing home and stuff. Somehow that turned into him attending a foreclosure auction and one can surely construe the outcome. Thank goodness for cousins. It has become a family project. (more on that later).

In August, I left Savannah to go to the USTA sectional tournament in Newport News where we came within points of going to Hawaii for the national championships! At the same time Scott was being flown from Ohio to Atlanta to DC back to Atlanta by different companies interviewing him for jobs in Annapolis and Richmond, VA. He finally got a flight to meet me in Annapolis...we hadn't seen each other for 2 weeks! It was during this short visit we realized some opportunities in Annapolis fell through and we made the executive decision that we were only going to look for job opportunities in Savannah. Two days later we found Scott his soon to be job in Savannah. One week after Scott left to go back to Ohio I flew out there to be with him. After being there for two days, I found a potential job opportunity and was really excited to interview. We stayed another week until we made the drive to Atlanta where Scott could interview for his job (might I add that Scott pretty much forced himself in, even though the manager thought he had found a candidate!). In Atlanta we spent some time with friends and a new little dog named Sally!

In September, we spent Labor Day on the water at my brother and sister in-laws new house. Scott's brother took us out many times on the boat so we could water ski. I tried to get up on one ski...or at least kick one off...but to no avail. I decided better luck next year, or years to come! We had a great time! We both had a few interviews this month. Scott had a few "ride alongs" and a social dinner interview and I had two intense interviews in Savannah. Scott headed back to Annapolis to start on getting the house ready to be put on the market. He was gone for two weeks and decided to go ahead and add a bathroom upstairs and make my favorite room in that house the master bedroom I always dreamed of (as some of my friends would say...insert tears here!).

In October, I started a new interview process with a new company. The process starts as a phone screen then 2 face to face interviews, field rides, final interview, and a decision. Scott was offered his job on October 11th driving home from his final interview in Atlanta. The next day Scott and I drove to Charleston, SC for my 1st face to face interview and after having lunch with our friend Molly, we continued up 95 N to go to Annapolis to finish getting the house ready. We spent one week there and officially put the house on the market Friday October 20th. During that week we had carpet installed, painted upstairs bathroom, built laundry room walls, cleaned and de-cluttered every room, had yard landscaped, paver driveway installed, and we spent about 12 hours putting together an aluminum 10x8 shed. Scott almost lost both thumbs! But it was very gratifying and we left Annapolis at 12:00am and headed back to Savannah for my 2nd face to face interview, which was at 3:00pm. The next day we jumped back in the JEEP and headed 12 hours North to Ohio. Scott spent a week working on the auction property. He gutted the kitchen and installed new cabinets, tile, and appliances. Scott's cousin is going to take over the renovations where we left off to make the house amazing. We will plan on putting it on the market in a year or two in case you have always dreamed of living in Lima, Ohio!

So, as this summary comes to an end...are you still with us? We will soon have pictures posted to make each segment seem as colorful and rip roaring exciting as we're sure these words portray.

As we move forward and prepare to nest in Savannah, GA we look forward to finally being able to live a normal life again. Please come back for more updates in the life of Scott and Carrie! Otherwise we will teepee your house and put shaving cream on your hands when you are sleeping.

Working? Well at leat one of us.

Scott started his job this week! He seems to love it and is doing awesome! I am still in the endless interview process but should finally hear a decision on Tuesday. It's such a waiting game and it's very frustrating and exhausting. This week I had 2 "ride alongs" and a final interview. Thankfully it should be over on Tuesday. Thanks for all your prayers!

Okay lets try this blog thing...

So, I originally thought I'd give this a try as soon as Scott and I ended our employment at the end of June. You know, so I could stay connected while we went on our wild and crazy 3 month trip around the country and all. Well, I wasn't too sure about posting my life on the web, but here I am now. And here's why, what better way to give small and quick updates (we'll see how long that lasts) about Scott and I's daily/weekly/monthly lives. That way people can check out our blog whenever they want and only read what they want and so I don't feel like I'm bombarding anyone with too many emails. So, there is my justification for starting this blog.

Maybe this week I will try to summarize what the last 3 months or so of unemployment has been like for us. And who knows maybe I'll even get Scott to post some crazy rendition of the thoughts going on in his head...he'll bring some entertainment your way, I'm sure of it.

Pictures are from our 1 Year Anniversary Trip June 18, 2006.
